Olanrewaju Ogunmefun who is a.k.a Vector tha Viper is one of Nigeria's fastest rising rappers. Born on the 7th of August to a family of 5, Vector grew up mostly in Lagos and Ijebu Ode. He is a graduate of Philosophy from the University of Lagos. He had his NYSC in Eastern Nigeria precisely, Abakaliki, Ebonyi state.. Vector's journey into hip hop dates back to junior high in the year 1994 as he was vibrantly involved in social activities entertaining his peers from the stage as a young rapper.  Vector's versatility runs through the fast and equally slow tempo, a rapper cum lyricist, an excellent songwriter, and producer. Vector is an undisputed emcee endowed with freestyle skills and flair. This, he awesomely displayed on his recently released Hiphop album, 'STATE OF SURPRISE' and on several freestyle battles e.g. Channel O Lagos Party at the Vaults, Unilag Rap King Etc. In this discourse with Hiphop analyst Buchi Steve, Vector talks on his recently released album, his music, the rumored beef with fellow rapper Ikechukwu Killz and lots more!!!. VECTOR: The major influence was from a group in d barracks called da S.O.S meaning "sons of the soil" who made hiphop seem interesting and easy how they did it. They eventually had me listen to ice cube, dre, snoop, naughty bt nature,nas and jay, and a few more as time passed. BUCHI STEVE: When did you start rapping and when was your first experience on the mic? Was it in a studio or on stage like in a show? How was that first experience-can you describe how you felt spitting bars in a crowd for the first time? VECTOR: First mic experience was wif "Simple D" now known as "Metronome" wif dj abass at Bass Dimension, a studio right beside Jimmy Jatts house in Obalende. This is the same studio dat bred Dj Debby of Rehab* Titled "Money", the track was my first ever attempt on a mic and the feeling? Adrenalin rush! BUCHI STEVE: In the past, it was on the news that you were signed to Storm Records. In your recently released album, there's no Storm Record signature on that album. What's up with that? VECTOR: I am wif YSG entertainment now. BUCHI STEVE: How easy has it been for you to promote your album all around Nigeria? VECTOR: It hasn't been all easy but work and time has shown massive positive responses lately. BUCHI STEVE: What was your source of inspiration during the production of your album project? VECTOR: All that is around me. I get inspired by conversations wif people, things I have read, watched, and personal thoughts... BUCHI STEVE: Has your album S.O.S brought you any specific accolades or recognitions? VECTOR: It sure has... BUCHI STEVE: On your song "She Ma Wa Lo", you came hard and took jabs at a guy who sounds like DMX. What's beef between you and fellow rapper Ikechukwu Killz? VECTOR: None! BUCHI STEVE: On your album, you have Emmsong, 2Face and a couple of other acts, which other artistes (local and international) would you want to collaborate with? Laji Dwayem is an emerging rapper that embodies the essence of the
Underground Nigerian music scene. Sharing Ibadan roots with other
musical acts such as Blaise and DJ Klem, he has earned his stripes as
far as being in and around the game is concerned.

On Friday the 21st of January 2011 he released his lighthearted take
on Whiz Khalifa's sleeper hit, Black & Yellow. Originally produced by
Norwegian production duo, Stargate, Laji Dwayem's rendition brings a
more relatable perspective to the Black & Yellow theme by comparing it
to the ubiquitous yellow and black colors seen on cabs and buses in
the Lagos metropolis.

Remarkably, in just 2 days requests for the song
were so much it exceeded the bandwidth of the site it was hosted on.
In addition his version also spawned 2 other versions of the song in
the same number of days - by upcoming rapper Beazy and Ghanian Justin
Mau.

Until recently, he was E.Y.M.E. until circumstances in life brought
about a change in his musical identity. His body of work includes a
feature on Da Suspekt's "I no send you" [Naija All star mix with
Wyclef] as well as participation in the Channel O Emcee Africa 2 that
earned him a position as one of the top 10 finalists for Nigeria.

Beyond the seemingly exotic name, Laji Dwayem is truly an act to watch
out for, in the foreseeable future.

NEW MUSIC:::Kelly Handsome- Finish You (M.I diss)

It is no longer news that the "Maga don Pay" crooner Kelly Handsome is at swords drawn with the Choc boys.

This feud started when Kelly Handsome felt rather insulted by M.I lines on his first album "TAlk About It", where he  rhymed "...Kelly Handsome is Handsome,I'll tell him when I see him but if I need a man, it will be Keke or D-One..".

This was followed by series of lyrical shots to and fro both camps. In M.I's latest album,M.I2, M.I calls him out saying "...See him forming handsome, Kelechukwu clap for yourself,Welldone...".

Kelly handsome has returned the shot with this one titled "Finish You Boy".

Where this beef will lead to, only time will tell.
