Remembering DA GRIN

Today we remember the demise of one of our high ranking soldiers in the Nigerian Hiphop industry, DA GRIN.
Da Grin died on 22nd April,2010,a week after he was involved in an auto crash!
Da Grin is best known for rapping fluently in Yoruba.His single "Pon Pon Pon" was a chart topper as well as his album "C.E.O". Da Grin released a track posthumously titled "If I Die". This spine-chilling joint was produced by Frenzy and released two days after his death. In that track,Da Grin's lyrics showed he knew his death was close. Today,REAL HIPHOP NAIJA remembers this one emcee too many!
Rest In Peace Chief Executive Omoita. You are missed!

The REAL HIPHOP NAIJA TOP 10 COUNTDOWN

Ladies and gentlemen,Hiphop lovers all over the world, Once again, I present to you-THE REAL HIPHOP NAIJA WEEKLY COUNTDOWN.
This week, brand new joints grace the chart.

At the bottom of the chart is Nigeria's foremost rapper Ruggedman with the club banging Hiphop joint 'Dj Pump It Up'.
This fast tempo club track is dedicated to the DeeJays and the party people!

Producer cum rapper Suspekt jumps to the No.7 SPOT with the femcee version of "I No Send You". On this remix,  the Capital Hill representer features Nigerian female rap heavyweights like Blaize,Mo'Ceddah and Eva.
Check this out baby,"I No Send You o!".

Capping up the chart is the Awka based rapper Bosalin with the dope Hiphop joint "Alubagom".Ladies and gentlemen give it up!!!
Off the "FORMAT" mixtape comes this hardcore track with superlative verses from radio hosts Elvis da Mainace and Raezy Winston.
"Alubagom" is a slang which denotes "I don Join" in street parlance. This joint is Hiphop,believe me.

Voice On The Horizon:::ALPHA

ALPHA is Nigerian songwriter, rapper and producer. Alpha hit the spotlight when he made a remix to 'Pon  Pon Pon', a song originally performed by the late Nigerian rapper Da Grin.
This remix is one of the tracks on the recently released Eastern Hiphop Mixtape.
Alpha is an Electrical/Electronics Engineering student of Madonna University, Rivers State.
His Influences include Drake, Kanye West, and M.I Abaga.
Alpha has dropped his debut project-a mixtape titled "NO SILENCE" is out and is available online.
